109 Days since the Fuego Volcano Disaster.

Why is Guatemala still making the headline news?

“109 Days since the Fuego Volcano Disaster."

The headlines in a local Guatemalan newspaper reads as follows:

"109 Days since the Fuego Volcano Disaster. 1400 refugees still living in public school building. Many families still waiting to be relocated in temporary housing in Escuintla, but they are afraid to be left out with nothing because they are not from San Miguel Los Lotes” (San Miguel Los Lotes is the main village where the disaster happened"

This is the current situation for many families who were displaced when Fuego volcano erupted more than three months ago, during those first weeks of the eruption.

Welcome To My Father’s House was able to visit many churches and shelters while ministering and providing aid care to the people. During the event, we were able to accomplish so many things by the grace of God:

    • Connection with the local pastor who is actively helping the refugees and their families
    • Give follow up to specific cases, like the case of the Perez family where we have been able to assist Germain (the father) to create a resume and send it out to people and companies to see if they can offer him a job.
  • The list is endless.

We just thank God for the opportunity that He is given us and Welcome To My Father’s House partners to show His love and care for this families.

We want to ask you for your prayers tomorrow as we go to minister to El Rancho, a local community, where people have gone back to their destroyed homes to live as a way of having some kind of normality in their lives.

“Their land and crops are destroyed and there is no work for them” are the words of a local WTMFH partner who is helping us to connect with the Local pastors to reach out to this communities.

Please pray as we take food supplies and other items to bless 60 families, please pray that we will also bring the joy and the hope of Jesus which will give them the power to overcome and be victorious in difficult situations.

Thank you all for your prayers and support to make this outreach possible. We know that we can count on you tomorrow to cover us in prayer as we minister in this community. Many blessings to each one of you.

In His Service,

Carlos and Heidi Fernandez
